Jasper FoodSafe - Coming Fall 2026

Our Mission

JEEC will be offering an in-person, one-day FoodSafe course designed to equip participants with essential food safety knowledge required to work in food service environments. This training is especially important in a tourist town like Jasper, where high visitor volumes mean strong food safety practices are critical to protecting public health and maintaining industry standards. The course is instructed by Tessa Huibers, who brings 12 years of experience in the culinary and hospitality industry. Participants gain practical, real-world knowledge that supports employment readiness in local restaurants, hotels, and food service operations.

Driven by passion

Tessa Huibers is a NAIT Culinary Arts graduate with experience in the Jasper hospitality industry since she was 14 years old. With a strong passion for cooking and exploring flavours, she pursued her love of food to become a chef. Throughout her culinary career, she developed a deep understanding of the importance of food safety and building a strong food-safe culture in professional kitchens. While she is no longer working as a chef, she continues to stay closely connected to the Jasper hospitality industry and is committed to sharing her knowledge and experience with others. Her goal is to support local workers and help ensure Jasper continues to thrive as a high-quality, world-class culinary destination.
